"Analog Dreams in a Digital World v2.0"
ART INSTALLATION AT THE 60th ORTON PARK FESTIVAL
A return of the postcard exhibit in August 2025 at the Orton Park Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. Celebrating community, creativity and connection at the 60th anniversary of the festival. The interactive exhibit featured postcards of festival scenes from over the years, performers, and whimsical street art,
Inspired by a lifelong love of postcards, a DIY aesthetic in creating cards from recycled cartons, flyers and ephemera, and the tactile and emotional appeal of the written note, the installation asks people to get away from their digital lives and connect and reflect with the moment, communicate beyond our digital screens, encourage artistic expression and writing.
Over 150 postcard designs were exhibited, with 60+ designs available for members of the public to pick up, write a note, and send. Over 1000 postcards were picked up, with more than 280 mailed from the festival itself!
I'm very grateful to the Marquette Neighborhood Association for their grant support towards this project.
